I've been making funky Christmas Trees using free icons downloaded from the the internet, defining them as patterns and then using my Pattern Stamp tool to fill the christmas tree shapes.

Well I like to paint with them.
Experimenting with blending modes, desaturating the patterns and using different brushes with your Pattern Stamp tool can have amazing results.

In week three of the Photo Magic Class we will be exploring some fun effects with texture and how you can use it in more creative ways - like letting lose and creating your own stenciled wall.
These digital techniques will easily translate into your mixed media projects and can have a life of their own when incorporated in your journals and other print projects.
Your digital tool kit is a powerful one and I encourage all my students to think "outside the box".

I have always loved taking flower pictures and since my garden is now starting to bloom I dared to pick a few lovely specimens as photo subjects.
The truth is, you don't always grab that "fab" shot right off the mark.
As you can see, the straight out of the camera shot is nothin spectacular! BUT .....
... with a little carefull editing, which can be accomplished in either in Elements or Photoshop CS, you can end up with an image that goes from blah to WOW!
In the new Photo Magic class we will be working on editing this very same photograph so that you can learn how to take an average picture and turn it into something quite spectacular.
