Another piece destined for the Sketchbook Project. This one cooked up with a photo taken in Las Vegas (where else do you find Golden Statues?) and some pics of weeds that I pulled out of the garden today.
The digital effort cost way less than the gardening one did. Three hours bent over with a spade will doubtless have me cursing under my breath for the next few days as thanks to a rather horrid car accident 20+ years ago where I broke my back and spent six weeks in suspended animation, tricks like heaving and digging seem to reap rather nasty rewards nowadays.
Regardless, things need to get done. The garden has to be put into Winter shape before I go down to Australia in a few weeks time.
My "To Do List" is growing..... even if the garden is not.
I've successfully deconstructed the book that I was sent and I am having fun incorporating my digital images into the newly formed pages of the book. Some transfers, some direct prints onto other papers.
I think the finished book will be a little bit "lumpy" and interesting. I hope.
tripping downtown to see what we could see and came upon Ryan Keeley
Awesome artwork where Ryan teams up with (in this case) photographer Peter Ruprecht to create some fabulous and artfully interpreted pieces - definitely worth the look if beautiful grunge is your kind of thing.
You can find him at: The Keeley Gallery 352 Bowery St New York, NY 10003 917.971.7298
18 Years ago I was blessed with a second bundle of JOY! Born at 2159 Hrs on the 22nd of September, 1993! Weighing in at 3535Grms and 50cm in length. Can you believe I still have the crib header from the Nursery all that time ago?
It's hard to believe what was once a tiny speck in my arms is getting ready to leave school, sitting final exams and looking more and more grown up by the minute.
As has become our Family tradition, here is your Blog Birthday card my Honey! I love you and miss you and will see you soon!
I can't believe how quickly the Summer has disappeared. It is barely 60F here today and I had to find my wooly UGG slippers this morning. The afternoon light has a different tone as it strikes through the turning leaves and it won't be long before I have to find my garden gloves and the big rake.
Yesterday I spent all day in the City teaching a private Photoshop Class, which was fun but tiring. Today I am doing chores and a little more Digital Painting. What are you up to? Anything exciting?
My name is Marie Otero. I'm a mixed media artist and spend my life hopping between my beloved Australia and the US. My current passion is digital art and photography, but I love to create new and fun stuff with almost anything I can lay my hands on.
