You would hardly believe that it's Winter in the North East. 62F today and the beach was packed with folk strolling along the boardwalk at the Sunken Meadow Park. It was lovely to take the air, with our coats flapping in the breeze, scarves and gloves left abandoned in the car.
The roller coaster of temperatures in the last week or so has been crazy, but sunshine abounds - so I am not complaining, no siree, not one little bit. And the camera loves the magical light that comes with fading sun and cooling sky.
Aside from walking on the beach I also did a little window shopping today - spying out some new camera equipment as in February I am going to take a photography workshop with the talented and reknowned David Nightingale.
One of my goals this year is to learn a little bit more about my camera and how to take "proper" photos so I am hoping this workshop will help me along in that directon as well as being something of a "dream come true" experience.

Greetings from Southern California.
I am your newest follower.
God bless and have a nice day :-)

What do you mean, take "proper pictures"????????????????? :-)
This looks like a very proper picture, indeed, to me................................... :-)

Marie this sounds like a trip of a lifetime. So many wonderful places and people to practice your photography skills upon. I'm really looking forward to seeing some of your photos transformed into digital art.

Very beautiful with the brilliant sky and those birds! The weather has been strange across the whole country, I'd say. Your new class sounds incredibly exciting! Good for you :-)

What a lovely photo. My internal seasonal clock is having a hard time realizing it's really winter in Michigan, but I'm enjoying the balmy temperatures.

beautiful photo, I agree that the sun is beautiful. I got out in it here too. The class sounds delish! Good for you. I love learning and am hoping to learn more about 'proper' photography myself although winging it is still tons of fun.

Marie, how gorgeous are your images? I mean, it's not a surprise so much as a re-awakening of how incredibly awesome they are!
Yes, weather has been weird. It might have to do with climate change or it might be because I did a weird kind of dance on the street the other day. That probably wouldn't translate to the east coast, but weirder things have happened. it's weird.
My point being that I LOVE that camera of yours! holy moly! That thing looks too good to eat. Please share every image from it. Even then ones you take with the lens cap on.
xo
p.s. maybe other people don't do that?

The weather is bizarre but beautiful! I'm so happy to put winter off for another few days. Your photo is gorgeous! You and I share the same goals this year...I also want to learn how to properly use my camera. I can't just "point and shoot" forever! Have a lovely Sunday~~

Correct me if I'm wrong but does that mean you are taking said workshop with David N in Venice? If so then that is an over the top dream come true!
Love the photo, all golden invitation, sounds like a wonderful place to spend some time.
