The first night I was in Essaouria I shared a fabulous dinner with a Kiwi Girl who was part of my photo tour group. We found this tasty bar that overlooked the Port and Beach, called Taros - we actually ended up venturing there a few more times during my stay.
That first night though, there was and English couple sitting behind us and from the get-go I was entranced by the girl's red dreads and lovely face.
I plucked up the courage and asked her if she would mind if I took her picture, which, thankfully she said - yeah, go for it. And I did.
I think if I was 20 something again I might paint my hair red and revel in the luxury of gay abandon!...
Just sort of gives letting your hair down a whole new meaning.....

Beautiful portrait Marie - you've really captured her essence.
That red says "I don't care what you think". I need to go red....
Love the tatoos in your previous post - think of those hours and hours of pain, suffering for their art they can't even see (without a mirror at least).

a wonderful portrait. i do like her red hair.
i am reveling in the luxury of gay abandon with my hair, letting it all go grey for the past 5 years.
i did have a large streak in front bleached to add to the whiteness. all my friends said, "no don't let it go grey!" i did anyway and now they say, "well, i didn't know it would look GOOD!" LOL.
This is just great, Marie.
