Four or five more sleeps, depending on how the plane flies till I get to see my boys!
And can you tell..I can't wait!
I talked to them on the phone tonight and they are like hungry little chickens... hurry hurry Mum. James even suggested he should get to work inventing a teleporter (I wish) so that I would be there sooner and he could see me at the flick of a switch!
I guess there are many of you who wonder why my boys go to school in Australia while I live up here in the US - the plain and simple answer is that I believe it's because they are in a better place. Far from the madding and political world, where they can learn to play cricket, field hockey (for boys) and gain a fabulous education without the attendant noise of full blown commercialism and media nonsense. They are also close to family on a daily basis - even if it's not me, and have the luxury of knowing what it's like to walk on the beach, or by the river without having to fight a crowd. They breathe fresh air and see warm sunshine - they dont' call Australia God's country for nothing!
**Points of order in importance to address on arriving...
Popsicle sticks or some other medium for the 7th grade model boat project.
Dress or sport shorts to be worn under the kilt of the 8th grader for Foundation Day Pipe Band display?
(Little does the school know - obviously - what Scotsmen "really" wear under a Kilt!!)
Do you think if I offer to tip the Pilot the plane will get there faster??
I hope you have a most wonderful trip!!!!

Your love must be so big, if you make this decision giving your boys such a wonderful life and on the other hand the strengh of a mom...living without your children. I can imagine what you mean, because I am also in love with my boys... still until yet, even if they are already young men. The love of a mom never ends! Have a very enjoyful time in Australia. How nice that your boys get to grow up in such a wonderful environment. You're right about all the commercialism and media junk here in the US. It wasn't always that way. I grew up much like your boys are doing now.
The photo you included is very interesting and I like the 2 Heroes and 1 Human Being title.
