I promised some pics of the projects that I completed this past week at ArtNSoul..so here goes. Some of the pieces were rather difficult to take a decent picture of, but hopefully you will get the idea!
This first one was done in Thomas Mann's class " A Container To Wear". Its a circular brass box, constructed with a base, side and acrylic window. The box houses little pieces of metal and doodads over the collaged image of an eye.
The second class I took was by Dan Essig, reknowned book artist. This class was lots of fun and there was plenty to learn. We created a book with hand tooled wooden covers and stitched with a Coptic binding. Later, headband stitching and a decorative Caterpillar were added to the piece.
The third and last class I took was with Michael De Meng. We created very funky Light Boxes. Layers of light, paint and images. Unfortunately the picture does not really do the box justice as there are many layers of imagery that dont show too well in the photograph.
you did a great job with your wooden book!
