....."On a separate note, our oldest – now on his 5th major deployment – reports he is rapidly closing in on his 100th bomb demolition mission in Afghanistan, which I try not to think about too much. Yet I find him on my mind quite often when he is “down range”.
The picture was taken yesterday as he and the team he leads detonated yet another IED somewhere over there."
I don't think I really need to add much to that, other than Godspeed and stay safe Ryan!

Thank you, your family and your son for the freedom my family and I enjoy so much! and the sacrifices that you are making for them. My daily prayer is for God to keep your son along with all of the troops safe and get them all home soon! Please Lord!

Ooohh this is hard to look at. I worry about him constantly and have never even met him-- We can only give him to God and trust HIM to keep Ryan safe and sound. Big hugs to all the Otero family.

I too am the mother of a son. This affects me right down to my core; godspeed, indeed! I hope he is home soon.

As a mother from two sons I feel very sad, angry and helpless if I see such pictures. Hope the time will be over soon for Ryan in Afghanistan!

I think and pray for your Ryan every day, for his safety and the safety of his team. Oh, yes, Godspeed, Ryan. Stay safe.
