While DH is busy rugging himself up and turning on the furnace to ward off the chill in New York, I have been sitting here doing quite the opposite as the thermometer heats up to 100F - no points for guessing whether or not I prefer to be swimming in the pool or drowning under layers of clothes!!!
Both boys are busy with their heads in books, one sitting exams (1 down 4 more to go) and the other getting ready for HIS slew of tests in a few weeks time.
In between ferrying folk hither and thither and ensuring that all domestic conditions are optimal for best academic success I have been stealing moments to do a little learning of my own..... namely trying to get to grips with the monster "Adobe Illustrator". It's a program that over the years I have tried my hand at and invariably given up the challenge - this time however, I am determined to succeed in gaining at least some level of mastery.
It's proving to be quite a frustrating experience, but I figure since I have been working with Photoshop for some 9 years now I can't expect to totally proficient with Illustrator overnight (though I wish).
So, the little visual ditty above is the sum of the past few days experience. Fairly simplistic I know, but I am slowly getting the hang of the thing, wrapping my head around Bezier curves, paths, outlines, adding and subtracting to shapes and generally "building" things. It's very different from Photoshop, but I suppose that's the whole point of it!!!
For now I'll leave you with an image of the "Aussie" Version of "Juice to Go"
is that WHEAT GRASS?! I actually love wheat grass juice. alone, or mixed with carrot/garlic juice or orange juice.
yes. i'm a very complex person.
I would imagine that your travels in Illustrator are mitigated by your perfectionism, and will take a long time accordingly! Because your photoshop work is perfect. At least the stuff you share.
I noticed the other day that the postcard I thought I'd sent is still here with your addy on it, undoubtedly because I finally won my battle with myself about whether to send it when you're OOT. So, that's why DH hasn't seen it yet!
He's too cold to get the mail, anyway.

Just saw Priscilla Queen of the Desert last night in Toronto. After their trek to Alice Springs, through the outback.... no wonder they charge so much for those brews! Made me think of you in Auz and hoping your trip remains rewarding and peaceful :)

100 degrees - hmmm - not for me - let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! Nice for you to be able to enjoy what you love.
I have no doubt you will master Adobe illustrator and be doing an e-course on it in no time!
