In a world that is filled with trial and tribulation, yesterday saw witness to a beautiful union between two people who represent much that is good and right.
Their smiles and obvious love for each other are a tender and wonderful message of reinforcement and a joy to behold.
Whether you are a Royalist or not, it is impossible to wish this lovely pair anything but the best and most blessed of lives together.
A brief but wonderful week with #1 Son. We had a fab time together, talking, walking, seeing the sights of the City, shopping, catching plays, movies and finding fabulous places for good food.
I love you Sweetie Pie, Godspeed on your travels back 'downunder'!

... and while I was busy doing nothing but being "Mum", a few things have started to grow in the garden. Weeds mostly, but what the heck.
Hope springs eternal in the human breast:
Man never is, but always To be Blest.
Easter for me is always about new ideas and beginings. It's a time that marries well with the calendar of the North, where Easter marks the start of rebirth and growth in the garden and that seems to connect well with all the other things that go on in my head.
My celebration of the Season this year, will be personified by the arrival of #1 Son from Australia for a brief and fleeting weeks visit.
I'm sure having James here will be "just the thing that I need" to jump start my Spring ....
...way better than Chocolate, in any shape or form, and he'll be the biggest blessing that I receive this weekend, no doubt about it!

Nature possesses far more variation and invention than we do...
for an artist, it's a matter of seeing and choosing.
The top image is one of my Trader Joe's Gerbera flowers - straight out of the camera. The other is the same image reinterpreted by way of a little Photoshop, Corel Painter and, ha - my imagination.
I love the endless possibilities.
Inbetween the hours and hours of pouring rain that arrived this weekend there were a few snippets of blue sky and a trip to Trader Joe's that netted some beautiful Gerbera blossoms.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to those who have endured the ravages of Twisters and Tornadoes this weekend instead of sunshine.
...and, I'm sorry if I seem a little less chatty of late. I am busy working on some behind the scenes "stuff".
After our one day of sunshine on Monday it has been raining cats and dogs ever since. I suppose that will be good for the newly potted pansies, but does not offer much solace for a sun-seeking child who has been wishing for warmer days.
In the spirit of looking on the bright side - if it rains, take rain pictures, and so it was that the drenched pansies became the subject of a macro photo shoot .... and a new perspective found.
The bubbles remind me of champagne....
In matters of art
we are taught to find the focal point
make it interesting, send a message.
But in life
it's not always that easy.
The background is confusing
minutia to sift through
before you "see" what you are meant to
in the big picture.
If you arrive at that point at all.

Spring has finally condoned to visit my garden, the forsythia are in bloom and so are the daffodils. It's quite heartening.
I even went and bought a couple of punnets of pansies today and installed them in pots.
Pansies and I don't usually get along - I have no idea why - but because we don't I generally leave them off the garden menu. This year though, I have been so starved of color beyond the kitchen window and have a huge hankering to get out there and PLANT ...
... still, its way too it's way too early for Impatiens and other floral goodness, so this "impatient" gardner had to make do with Pansies! I know I will love them anyway ... I am a sucker for anything I can plant and watch grow.
Plenty of color and oomph left in this old girl! Snapped way down on the North Fork of Long Island where we were tripping down the Vineyard Highway (hic - it's ok I was not driving)!
The best time of year to visit - before it becomes overrun by all the City wannabees.
