The Weather Man said it was all going to be a dud, so at the least snippet of sunshine DH and I took off out of the house and went exploring.
Saturday we headed out to the North Fork of Long Island and came across Pumpkin Parties by the tractor load.
Hay rides, wine tastings, broccoli, potatoes and pumpkins, LOTS and LOTS of pumpkins .... for picking, heaving, weighing and photographing!
On Sunday the rain looked as if it would stay nicely contained in the clouds so we headed to Central Park and walked our legs off! Relishing the last of the days before heavy coats and boots become a must.
Performers were everywhere but the best fun was to be seen on the Boat Lake where children, both young and old were zipping their craft on the water.
The leaves aren't really turning yet and it's that time of year when you can still just wear a "snicket" as my Mother would say - and be warm enough.
Time still to beckon Winter.
