Someone in Seth's book said something odd, I thought. She said that one thing her art could not be characterized as is pretty. And I think I know what she meant, but it also seemed odd, because, for me, I don't use the word pretty as a throwaway word, and I think some of her work can definitely be considered pretty.
It's like the word nice, in that it's used too casually most of the time, but it does have a specific use.
I don't know what the hell I'm talking about, but I will say that some of your work is not pretty, but this is. So, there.
Which is not to say your not-pretty work isn't appealing or pleasing. It's just to say it's not pretty, per se.
My name is Marie Otero. I'm a mixed media artist and spend my life hopping between my beloved Australia and the US. My current passion is digital art and photography, but I love to create new and fun stuff with almost anything I can lay my hands on.
Absolutely magical! Love how the dress transforms itself into wings. Wonderful work!

One of my favourite sayings, and I do dance like no one is watching..often. Such an emotional form of expression.

Amazingly wonderful. I like so much about this, but especially the floor where it looks like flower petals spread out.
