I've got my hot Mamma hands on #2 Son for two weeks here in New York as he takes his mid year University break from Curtin where he is studying Design and Photography.
#1 Son is busy "up North" in the woolly wilds of Western Australia on a mine site doing what amounts to a Civil Engineering Internship during his Uni break (and becoming a qualified Snake Catcher to boot)!
I count my blessings daily that I have two growing men who are still content to call and talk to their "Mum" about allsorts and everything.
#1 and I hold hour{s} long discourses on subjects that vary from Politics to Music to Movies to Travel and thoughts on life in general.
#2 and I share screens on Skype, talk photoshop and illustrator, discuss camera 'stuff' and fuss over his Uni projects and spend time checking out blogs and perusing hot images on Society6.
I like that there are pieces of me that I know and recognise in each but can also see the influence and parts of others who have shaped them as youngsters.
Essentially they have both "flown the coop" but it's nice to know that they like to come home and don't mind being fussed over and favoured.
Even at 50+ I still get that from my Mum too - it's rather lovely really.
Such a small world Marie. My number one son is also spending his summer in the wilds of northern British Columbia running a gold mining exploration camp. And it is so great to share one of your passions with your son!

Lucky you - two photographers in the house at the same time! He is certainly his mum's boy.
Blink and they've gone from toddlers into grown men. When did it happen???

Sure is nice to share things with one's kids. I have no contact with my mother (my own choice) but I try to be as my grandmother as she is my role-model.
Beautiful capture of your son.

How wonderful & lucky you are. I feel very lucky to have nice relationships with all of my parents, in-laws included.
I feel extra fortunate to share a passion for all things creative with my mum too.
I'm also very curious to know what camera he is shooting with. It looks so compact compared to my big daddy DSLR but looks more complex that a point & shoot. Is it some kind of in-between like a bridge camera?

How nice to be able to share these things with your sons; it's something that will last a lifetime.

you are so fortunate to have "boys" who feel Mom is someone worth talking to and sharing ideas with! Enjoy it while you can!

I know exactly what you mean, Marie, since my kiddos are 38, 35, and 34. It is so wonderful to know and have each of them in my life. And, I so miss my Mother - I am glad you can be spoiled by yours, too. Hugs from Alaska. Karen
