While DH is busy rugging himself up and turning on the furnace to ward off the chill in New York, I have been sitting here doing quite the opposite as the thermometer heats up to 100F - no points for guessing whether or not I prefer to be swimming in the pool or drowning under layers of clothes!!!
Both boys are busy with their heads in books, one sitting exams (1 down 4 more to go) and the other getting ready for HIS slew of tests in a few weeks time.
In between ferrying folk hither and thither and ensuring that all domestic conditions are optimal for best academic success I have been stealing moments to do a little learning of my own..... namely trying to get to grips with the monster "Adobe Illustrator". It's a program that over the years I have tried my hand at and invariably given up the challenge - this time however, I am determined to succeed in gaining at least some level of mastery.
It's proving to be quite a frustrating experience, but I figure since I have been working with Photoshop for some 9 years now I can't expect to totally proficient with Illustrator overnight (though I wish).
So, the little visual ditty above is the sum of the past few days experience. Fairly simplistic I know, but I am slowly getting the hang of the thing, wrapping my head around Bezier curves, paths, outlines, adding and subtracting to shapes and generally "building" things. It's very different from Photoshop, but I suppose that's the whole point of it!!!
For now I'll leave you with an image of the "Aussie" Version of "Juice to Go"
