Whilst I might not be able to do too much about moving house for real, I've spent the better part of the last two evenings moving my Virtual home of MarieOtero.com to a new and spiffier place.
I've chosen to host the new site on Squarespace which is where Love To Photoshop lives. They have great customer service, a nice easy to use interface and while their Squarespace 6 platform has a few less than user friendly aspects compared to the old Squarespace 5 it does have some features which are definitely winners - creating galleries for example.
Their websites are also pretty cost effective, around $8 a month for a basic site and heck, I even get a discount as I am now considered to be a web developer! Ha!
That sort of makes me laugh as several years ago I actually went back to school and gained my Associates Degree in Network Engineering and am supposed to know all sorts about everything to to with computers, networks and the like but found after completing the course that it all left me bored silly and I've never done much like work since!
However, I do understand all the stuff about DNS servers and will wait patiently until the new domain address gets mapped to where it's meant to be....and I can put the site live properly.
